From the European Cluster Collaboration Platform, on behalf of the European Commission, we would like to invite you to the 7th edition of the project creation workshop “Cluster Collaboration Lab (C2Lab)” on renewable energies and cleantech taking place in Esbjerg, Denmark, on 6-7 May 2025.
We are contacting the clusters working in the fields of renewable energy, cleantech, recycling and digital registered on the European Cluster Collaboration Platform to bring together the brightest minds in Europe and allow them to exchange and define new cluster projects for innovative solutions in the energy transition.
What is the C2Lab?
The C2Lab is a workshop-style event where you will have the opportunity to meet new partners, discuss your project ideas, and initiate collaboration – for example, to apply together for a European call. Participants could either join with a concrete project proposal or offer their expertise and knowledge by joining others. Over two days, we will hear about the European priorities for the energy transition, funding opportunities, and start an interactive process of building working groups to map out the ideas and work together on the definition of new projects.
Why come to Esbjerg?
Historically, Esbjerg was Denmark’s largest fishing port and an important center for maritime industries. However, with the decline of the fishing industry, the city has reinvented itself as a leader in offshore wind energy. Today, it serves as a crucial logistics and maintenance hub for North Sea wind farms. Esbjerg is the fifth-largest city in Denmark, located on the Danish west coast.
The city is seen as the energy metropolis of Denmark, hosting the countries’ leading offshore port, a hub for cargo transport in northern Europe and one of the world’s largest originating ports for wind power. As much as 1,500 MW offshore wind is shipped out of Port Esbjerg every year. The port is home to more than 200 businesses, which employ more than 10,000 people.
You will get to meet main stakeholders from the energy ecosystem in Denmark.
What are the topics for the project development?
During the workshop, we will focus on:
- Clean energy transition
- Clean technologies
- Recycling
- Smart energy
- Digitalisation
- Cybersecurity
